Princeton came to the bat first but for three innings could do nothing against Highlands's pitching. In the fourth King flied out to Winslow. Then Ward reached first on a safe hit over second base. Mackenzie hit to Cook, who fielded Ward out at second. Whittemore threw too low for Dickinson to catch Mackenzie at first and thus a chance for a double play was lost. Otto's three base hit to left field brought Mackenzie home, and the side was then retired by Altman's striking out. In the fifth, Brooks and Gunster struck out and Williams fouled...
...came in and none were put out. In the fifth Whittemore did the same thing, and in the seventh Highlands might have saved a run if he had thrown a short grounder home instead of fielding the ball to second base. Cook at third covered very little ground and threw to first poorly. With the exception of one wild throw to third Dickinson played his position well and stopped in good form several wild throws. Highlands pitched a good game and held Pennsylvania down well until the eighth inning, when he was batted rather freely. Scannell supported him well...

With the score tied, Ward came to the bat. He hit an easy grounder to Highlands who threw wild to Dickison, Ward reaching third on the throw. Five hits with a total of eight, two costly errors on the part of Corbett and Stevenson, and Princeton had scored seven runs before the inning was ended...
...Wiggin got first on a safe hit and reached second on Smalley's fumble of Whittemore's hit. Winslow hit the ball to Smalley, who tried to catch Wiggin at third, but Folsom's foot was off the base and the bases were full. Dickinson hit to shortstop who threw Wiggin out at home plate. Paine was hit by a pitched ball, forcing in a run by Winslow. Stevenson hit to short who threw wild over first base and Dickinson and Paine scored, Stevenson reaching third and scoring on Corbett...
...poor exhibition of baseball, by a score of five to four. The freshmen were wholly unable to bunch their hits and showed marked weakness in their fielding at critical points. The fielding and batting of Anderson were the only features in the freshmen's play, while Pote caught and threw well for the Somerville nine. The batteries were: Harvard '97, Gregory and Dunlop and Scott; Somerville High School, Teague and Pote...
