These suggestions are not especially novel, if we consider their bearing upon present, methods of admission to college and organization of the first-year curriculum. I am not concerned with the detailed requirements in any subject field nor would I ascribe superior value to any particular type of test or entrance examination. We need the evidence of the essay type as well as that of the more recent objective test.
