...Tuesday evening, "the event of the season," a grand spectacular play, founded on Jules Verne's novel, "Voyagers in Southern Seas, or the Children of Captain Grant," was produced at this theatre, and will be continued until further notice. As a spectacular play it is a great success, and fulfils the expectations raised by the announcement of the play. The tableaux, the ballet, and the costumes are all remarkably good.
