...nationalization of the land. As to Mr. George's three great arguments, he affirms that commercial disturbances are due to speculations in land. This assertion, however, has no evidence to support it, and is opposed to the opinions of all economists. Land is far from being an object peculiarly subject to speculation above all other things. Again Mr. George declares that the tendency towards the enhancement of the value of land above its present value withdraws large bodies of land from cultivation, and drives down the margin of cultivation. Facts show this statement to be entirely contrary to the truth...

...communication in the last Crimson on the subject of the cricket eleven seems to be entirely uncalled for. Last fall the eleven certainly did poorly in the matches played, but the year before it was very successful and this year its showing has thus far been good. In its first match with the Longwoods, the best club in Massachusetts, Harvard was beaten, but if George Wright had not played on the Longwood eleven the score would have been very close. The last match with the Longwoods, when George Wright did not play, resulted in a draw. Our team, however...

This season they have played two matches against the acknowledged strongest club in New England...

...concert of the Glee Club and Pierian Sodality gave rise to several reflections on the subject of our college song. It has often been commented on that "Fair Harvard" should remain forever the distinctly Harvard song. Setting aside the hymn like character of the air, it seems a pity that a college that has graduated so many musicians has not been able to obtain for itself an original production more suitable to the many occasions when such a song is required. The only other song that is recognized as a distinctly Harvard song is the "Yale Men Say," but this...
