...orchestral accompaniment of the Aria was very unsatisfactory. In the Dvorak songs, Mr. Winch was accompanied on the piano by no less an artist than Mr. Nikisch. Of course the songs were interpreted exquisitely. The Haydn Symphony was given with precision and with charming grace. Mr. Nikisch's splendid string band was at its best and would have delighted even Haydn himself. The only uninteresting number on the program was Brahm's Ten Variations on a Thema by Hayden.
