Coach Roper at Princeton followed the Notre Dame example Saturday and started an entire team of second-string play- ers against Amherst. The Tigers' substitute backfield did not do as well as expected, and the score at the end of the first half stood 0 to 0. In the last two periods Princeton, with Slagle starring, scored three touchdowns against their plucky opponents. Forward passing, with Slagle doing most of the tossing, was the feature of the Orange and Black attack. Of nine passes thrown, seven were completed.
