...University hockey team overwhelmingly defeated the Cornell seven by the score 8 to 1 in the Arena last Saturday evening, in the first game of the Intercollegiate series. It was not until the second half that the University team struck its stride and all of the eight goals were scored in that period. For the first 20 minutes Cornell had distinctly the better of the contest and her single goal looked formidable at the end of the half. But in the second period the University players showed better team-work than ever before, their stick-work had improved and their...
...next two weeks, the Princeton football team is still an uncertain quantity. Not for many years past has such a wealth of first class material been available for the eleven and the early-season prospects were unusually bright; but the team has not as yet struck its stride and the showing in the games to date has not been as good as the ability of the men would seem to warrant...
Fast brilliant play marked the final struggle between H. G. M. Kelleher '18 and G. W. Wightman 3L. for the championship of the University in singles. However, Wightman continued to improve and succeeded in capturing the second set 6 to 3. The third set brought out beautiful shots and equally clever returns, both contestants showing marked versatility and playing...

We wish him success in his endeavors toward this end, that, as a result, Harvard's athletic equipment may be bettered and opened still more...
...regular players are back, Captain E.L. Barron '13, H.G. Francke '14, O. Needham '13, B.B. Locke '13, G.M. Rushmore '13, and C.H. Weston '14. Last fall, however, the team had a chance to develop team work, although it was not until late in the season that it struck its stride, owing to the new men who were added to the squad from time to time. The weak point of the men last fall was their shooting, but there will be plenty of time to develop that before the intercollegiate season begins, in the latter part of this month. Last spring...
