...first three Weld graded crews raced down stream over the mile and seven eighths course yesterday. The first crew gave the second five seconds, and the third crew ten seconds. At the finish the positions of the first and second crews were unchanged, and the third was about three lengths behind the first. The stroke of the first was slow from start to finish and there was no life in the boat. The second crew rowed a quick, snappy stroke, but were inclined to rush forward. The third crew rowed in good form, but they lack the weight and strength...
November 15 has been finally fixed as the date of the fall regatta. The third and fourth Newell graded crews, and the third, fourth, fifth and sixth Weld crews will row down stream, over the mile and seven-eighths course, at 3 o'clock, the first and second crews from each club following at 3.30. The Freshman race will not be held on the same day. It will probably be held during the early part of the following week, but no definite decision has yet been made...
