Hartwell had the misfortune to break his rudder near the start, and the other men came in first with a very pretty stroke. The six-oar race was a very good one. Among them these are the most important: that each boat shall start from an anchored boat; if the race is postponed from the time appointed, it shall take place the next pleasant afternoon; that a single scull race shall be held, open to men of all colleges in the Association, provided three entries be made before June 20.
