...back who shone most brilliantly last week was Tom Harmon of Michigan. Against Iowa, Junior Harmon, a 9.9 sprinter and champion hurdler, scored every one of Michigan's 27 points: four touchdowns (including a 90-yd. dash after intercepting a forward pass) and three conversions- as magnificent a display of fancy field running, forward passing, blocking and place-kicking as has been seen on a college football field since the days of Red Grange. Biggest disappointments to Crimson-Blue followers were Jim Lightbody, who had to be satisfied with a third in the 440, and sprinter Charley Smith. Smith pulled a muscle in his right leg while he was leading the pack in the 100 and dropped all the way to fourth at the finish...

Their spiked shoes will not be impossible to fill, despite the fact that the Freshman team seems to have little to offer. Charley Smith, the Crimson's best sprinter, is only a Sophomore. Previously, Yale's Perryman had taken the first heat in 23.8, beating Garrett, and Julian Armstrong, of Dartmouth, had won the second heat, also in 23.8, with Harvard's Jim Curwen third. Curwen placed fifth in the final behind Garrett, Russ Duncan, of Yale, Armstrong, and Perryman, a formidable field for any 50-yard race...

Captain Bob Cushman, all-around sprinter, may also enter the 50, but he and Art Ostrander, best Dartmouth distance man, may find themselves up against Rick Cutler and Frannie Powers in the 220, all of which is sure to end up dismally for the Hanoverians. Paul Dyer, Dartmouth's only diver of merit, has scored 112 points this year, and on the basis of that performance can defeat Rusty Greenhood if the Crimson captain is caught off form. Rusty has fluctuated from 93 to 136 points this season...
