...meeting of the Athletic Committee held yesterday afternoon no definite action was taken in regard to making hockey a major sport, the motion being referred to the undergraduate members of the committee, under the rules of the committee. Rule 4 states: "The "H" may be awarded to any candidate for a University team by vote of the Committee upon the recommendation of the Captain." This final decision is the outcome of a movement that was started several years ago and represents the present general opinion among the undergraduates that hockey as a game has the qualifications of a major sport and should be recognized as such.
