...first half. Cutler caught a punt on Harvard's 35-yard line. Browne made nine yards through right tackle, and a series of line plunges brought the ball to the opponents' 46-yard line. MacKay recovered Cutler's onside kick on the 22-yard line, and Corbett, with splendid interference by White and Cutler, went through right tackle for a touchdown. MacKay missed the goal. Constantly aggressive, and for the greater part of the time in their opponents' territory, the University team should have scored again. Three times Harvard reached the Indians' 5-yard line only to be put back, twice for off-side work and once for holding. The University team was splendid on the defence, blocking Thorpe's place-kick and allowing but little gain through the line. When the Indian team had rushed the ball to the 2-yard line, they were unable to gain again and lost the ball on downs. Both teams used the forward pass frequently. Harvard was particularly...

It was in the ends that the line was weak, for although Crowley and Cutting both played brilliantly at times, they were not down on punts and did not tackle hard. Cutler punted well, but was not so good in receiving the ball. Corbett ran well with little interference, though...

...Saturday, the team played without him and showed an ability to forget their handicap, which was capital. There was a splendid aggressiveness and determination evident, culminating in the rush which scored the touchdown, and which moreover was the best executed attack seen on Soldiers Field by a Harvard team in several years. In spite of certain failings, some of which were marked, there was an admirable quality in the way they went about their work and that is the secret of good teams. Moreover it signifies the way they will accept the handicap in the coming two weeks, and gives...

Brown made only forty yards by scrimmaging during the whole game, and Captain Mayhew did not show up as well as was expected. He played a fast game, however, and the two ends, Dennie and Regnier, did splendid work. J. McKay, the fullback and punter, kicked well and made the greater part of Brown's gains...
