Certainly the Cincinnati offense is one of the finest in recent memory. Basically, the Reds line up is a three spark-plug, three piston machine. Morgan, Rose and Griffey, all hitting well over 300, are the spark-plugs; Bench, Perez and Foster, who collectively accounted for 66 home runs and 316 RBI's are the pistons. The sparkplugs hit 'em where they ain't and the pistons hit 'em over the walls...

...here you have this enigmatic creature what might strike any beach bum at any time and no expert knows enough to prevent it. That's pretty exciting stuff for a commuter from Scarsdale or a teacher in Tucson Jaws is hitting it big because it adds a spark off danger, a touch of unpredictability into otherwise too-predictable lives. While other horror flicks transport you for a trembling evening or maybe a law sleepless nights afterwards. Jaws widens the possibilities for the rest of your beach-going existence. That could really be something to celebrate...

None of these characters has any more than two dimensions--Hagen's dumb blonde should have at least a spark of pathos, but instead you cringe every time she appears on the screen. They're like card-board cutouts, decked in lavish twenties satins and furs, pasted against larger-than-life sets, mouthing jokes that aren't funny, singing and dancing on the all-too-obvious cues...
