...Said. Their gimmick? They're cute, they wear skimpy schoolgirl outfits, and they make out with each other. It's unclear whether Lena Katina, 18, left, and Julie Volkova, 17, are lesbians or just attention hungry, but nobody seems to care: the single has gone to No. 1 in Spain, Austria and Italy, and--don't look so superior--their album is swiftly moving up the Billboard charts...

...Killed Don Quixote, Gilliam's investors got very little for their $32 million. The director managed to shoot about three minutes of usable film before enduring the filmmaker's worst nightmare--his picture was shut down after just a little more than a week of production in Spain in the summer of 2000. That's the warning...

...Nice to root for the underdog, but what about countries that produced several great films this year? Academy rules allow only one film per country per year, forcing prolific nations to make painful choices; Mexico's Y Tu Mamá También and Spain's Talk to Her were not submitted. "The impulse of the Academy is to be as inclusive as possible," says executive director Bruce Davis. "Ideally every picture in every country [would be] eligible. We would then decide what the best films of the year were and if all five came from Yugoslavia...
