Dickinson was weak at third, muffing a fly and throwing a prettily stopped grounder so wild to first that the base runner came in before the ball could be found. Dean and Hovey covered their territory finely and put a great deal of snap into their work. Bates, though very wild, was effective, and allowed only four hits.
