Pinocchio's — Oh yea, you'll want to go to Nochs. You, however, won't be the only one. Nochs is always packed on the weekends until closing at 2, since students can't keep their grubby little hands off the fat, doughy Sicilian slices—especially after a few drinks. Nochs is often rated one of the best pizza places in Boston, so don't expect to get a seat in there or anything, but if you're needing a little grease and bread fix, it's probably worth the wait. ...plain weird movies in DVD or, bless 'em, VHS format. Netflix, a more convenient but much less comprehensive service, killed off owner Youngman Kim's rental business, and with it a unique source for voracious cinephile. Don't ask me why, but the whole collection was bought by the Sicilian town of Salemi, and will be shown in what the burghers call the Neverending Festival. It's a sign that, at least for strange old movies, there is life after death...

...Mafia has long fascinated the world with its mix of murder, mystery and Old World folklore. But the Mob is best understood as an organization constantly trying to consolidate its power in order to accumulate wealth. Considered the modern inventor of organized crime, the Sicilian Mob remains hugely powerful, even as its share of the international trafficking business has diminished and other syndicates have made headlines for their bloody turf wars.
