Another interesting shift in the line-up was observed at left end, where R. Pantaleoni seems to have usurped the position from W. E. Gates, regular wingman. Pantaleoni was substituted in the Exeter game, and did so well that he again appeared on Team A against B. U. Until last week he had been with the second squad, but now he has earned a claim as the teammate of L. C. Larrabee. Most noticeable of all, however, was the decided difference in the Freshmen's work as a team. Interference was more certain, more linesmen crashed through on the offense...

After trying out many combinations in line-up which have involved at least one shift a week during the first five weeks of playing, Coach Fisher has finally found a line-up which seems to be the most satisfactory arrangement that can be made of the 1920 material. As in past years, the first part of the season has been devoted to trying out and selecting the best material. This early-season "picking and choosing" culminated with the Centre game on Saturday, and the remaining four weeks will be devoted to polishing the selected material, with special attention to defense...

This shift would put either Hamilton or Humphrey in the backfield; the former would increase the line-bucking strength of the team, while Humphrey would...

...with Senator Lodge at Symphony Hall. Before the argument had ended, the A. P. had transmitted 4000 words on the event throughout the country, a second wire with extra equipment is usually installed and an expert "lineman" is in the building to watch the circuit and make a quick shift to the reserve wire if necessary. At the Boston Bureau, where the loop is connected with the trunk circuits, still another man "rides" the wire, listening to the matter going over it and quickly detecting any sound that indicates that at any point the "Morse" is not being received smoothly...

...present, the Penn team is halting and unworkmanlike in the operation of the "Heisman shift"; but it is expected the present week's practice will make a difference tomorrow against Lafayette. Since Heisman has been long recognized as the foremost exponent of the modern game, it is not surprising to read that forward passes played a major part in the Penn attack on Swarthmore...
