Dartmouth obviously was psyched up for the match, for the Indians took the field long before the Crimson appeared. Suddenly the humor has turned black. Scandal involving hundreds of thousands of dollars, tainting both Army brass and noncoms, has shaken a Pentagon already under attack from every side. The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations is digging into corruption in Army noncommissioned officers' clubs in the U.S., Germany and Viet Nam. The key figures implicated have held two of the Army's most respected positions. One is Sergeant Major William O. Wooldridge, 46, once the top enlisted man in the Army. He has been accused of running a "Little Mafia" of senior sergeants that systematically bilked service clubs...

...setup in Two Gentlemen Sharing, but it gets the job done. At least, until Ginger meets Jill, "the special one" (Susan George). "It's been over three weeks and she's still untouched by human hands," Dwyer complains before righting the situation during a drunken brawl. Ginger, shaken up just a bit at first, finally recovers and marries Jill, who by now is great with Dwyer's child. All of this is supposed to be comic, but it comes out grubby melodrama. There is, as partial compensation, some excellent location photography of suburban London by Cameraman Larry...

...shaken up. I go back to my room to finish the article about Namath, but I still can't concentrate. I'm restless. I put on my dark glasses and go outside. I walk down to the river and sit on the footbridge, watching the dark, timeless water flowing beneath me. There is a girl about 20 yeards away. Maybe I should go talk to her, I think. Maybe she is a sinner, too. I start to fell better...
