Speaking of the slick man from Little Rock, Bill should have been utilized more by Al. Understandably, the veep wanted to separate himself from Bill due to the sexual and financial scandal that unrelentingly followed the former Governor of Arkansas. Trying to step out of Bill's mammoth shadow, Al rarely mentioned his connection to the president and told Bill to stay home. I can see why Al would initially want to create this distance, but come crunch time in the fall, Al should have campaigned with Bill on the issues and sent Bill out to preach the gospel...
...guitar a bit less austere and the tunes somewhat more welcoming. On "Big Exit," Harvey meditates on human suffering, but concludes with "I'm immortal when I'm with you." Radiohead's Thom Yorke accompanies her vocals on the flowing duet "This Mess We're In," a sweetly sexual exchange. Finally, Stories ends with "We Float," possibly the most elegant ballad she has ever written. With P.J. For Houellebecq's narrator, it is only logical that a free-love commune should turn into a Satanic cult capable of appalling masochistic sexual rituals. As for his individual characters, there is of course no action for them to take other than to wander off into oblivion. Bruno checks into a mental institution where he spends the rest of his pathetic days numbing his libido with cocktail medications. Michel, after discovering a way to clone perfectly rational non-egotistical human beings that will in a few years time...
...year, and the pair's record on the council make us believe they can make good on their promises. Central to their platform is a discounted Harvard cell phone plan, parties until 2 a.m., a CUE Guide to concentrations, an impartial advocate to the Ad Board for victims of sexual assault, and a first-year rape prevention program. Historically, candidates for the council's highest positions have promised more than they can deliver; if anything, Gusmorino and Lee have thus far exceeded expectations. The council will have a bigger budget next year if the anticipated increase in the student activities...
