...said that the scheme of life which Christ brought to the world was a system of prayer. Prayer is instinctive in man in times of peril and emergency. At such times it is universal; as natural to the poor heathen as to the Christian. It is the unrestrained outpouring of the soul towards the Father of all. The highest civilization which the world knows is one which depends on prayer and which builds edifices for purposes of prayer. In such a civilization there is the most prayer, for the men of genius, unsatisfied by communion with human beings, reach...

...announcement appeared in Thursday's CRIMSON of a plan for an Intercollegiate Debating Union. It cannot but be surprising to the members of the University to note that the name of the new union alone appeared in connection with the scheme. In fact the New Union carried on its negotiations without consulting or even informing the Wendell Phillips Club of its action; so that the first intimation that that club had, was through the article in the CRIMSON. A committee, representing all phases of college life, will soon be appointed and then the details of the scheme can be thoroughly attended to. Certainly...

Within a day or two some arrangement will be made for providing a convenient method for the collection of small subscriptions. Checks made payable to the president of the board of editors and sent to 3 Linden street will be promptly acknowledged. Reports...

The new scheme is to abolish the office of University Treasurer, and to have managers of the various associations instead of treasurers. To perform the duties of these offices there will be elected a general athletic treasurer, who will take charge of all accounts and moneys handled by the various associations. The proposed amendments to the constitution provide that this treasurer shall receive a fixed salary...
