...University Nine played the first match-game of the season last Saturday with the Rollstones of Fitchburg. Not much was to be expected of the first game of a newly made-up nine. The game was long, and in general uninteresting, with occasional brilliant plays. The ground was execrable, and the infielders waited for the ball with but little hope of judging it correctly.
