Frequent upgrading by RV owners has been fueled not only by a strong trade-in market--RVs depreciate more slowly than cars--but also by the emergence of a new must-have feature called a slide-out. Towed trailers make up 80% of RVs sold, but the big money is still in motor homes, which account for roughly two-thirds of industry revenue.
