There is a strong feeling of indignation at Dartmouth College over certain statements in a recent article on that institution which appeared in the Manhattan Magazine. The situation, the buildings, and the students are described as not only rural, but shabby and almost coarse. The students defend their institution as one of the smaller colleges which has struggled bravely against poverty, has educated men who have taken prominent places in public and private life, and has inculcated and continues to teach sound learning and pure morality.
