...Company opened on Monday with great success. To-night will be given "Fra Diavolo," in which Miss Carrington makes her debut as Zerlina, supported by Mr. H. Peakes as Beppo, and Mr. Conly as Giacomo; both are excellent actors. Tomorrow's matinee, "Carmen," with Marie Roze in the title role, in which she sings and acts delightfully, and is well supported by Mr. Byron as Don Jose, and Mr. Carleton as Escamillo. To-morrow night, "The Bohemian Girl." Next week, the first production in this country, we believe, of Boito's "Mefistofele," of which much has been heard from London...

Escamillo, the valiant torreador of the original opera, is made a great coward, from whom Don Jose has little trouble in winning Carmen. Mme.
