Perfect Circle Co. reported nine-month earnings of $736,000 against $528,000. This company is the oldest and biggest maker of piston rings. Successive names of the company have been: Railway Cycle Manufacturing Co. (1891); Light Inspection Car Co. (1900); Teetor-Hartley Motor Co. (1914); Indiana Piston Ring Co. (1918-28). Widener Library has lost in all some $200,000 worth of fine books. It is believed that many were disposed of through a ring in Manhattan. Last year a turnstile was installed in the lobby; the losses decreased. Last fortnight a Cambridge bookseller reported that Mr. Williams, graduate of Boston University and Harvard (M. A., 1909), onetime principal of several Massachusetts high schools, teacher at Groton two years ago, had sold him two books which he thought came from the Library. Dramatics at Harvard will get under way this season with the announcement of the Dramatic Club competitions which will begin the first part of November and the participation of J. F. Joyce '33, president of the club in an exhibition first act of a play, by Dr. B. T. Ring entitled "Heard Round the World," which is to be presented at the Ring Sanatorium, Arlington, before the New England Pen Womens Association on Wednesday, October 28.
