The first one requests the establishment of a half-course in elocution, and states in its premises the reasons for such a step; the second one begs for a half course in elementary astronomy, without mathematics. If the curriculum is to be extended for the year 1888-89 there is no good ground for denying the petitions, especially as upwards of forty signatures have been placed...
EDITORS DAILY CRIMSON:- All of us who take courses in political economy should be very grateful for the establishment of the special library in University and for the prompt granting of the request to have the library open until 10 p. m. It seems a pity that the whole pleasure and convenience in using the library should still be spoiled by careless management of the heating arrangements. The room should be comfortably warm (and I myself am not a fresh air fiend), but when it gets so hot that one is very apt to fall asleep and dream of purgatory...
