Again and again has the subject been brought up through your columns, editorially and by communication, but still the men remain inactive. Professor Scott has already made five trips to the West with the same object, and but few districts of interest remain to be explored. The Bad Lands of Eastern Oregon will be visited on this trip. The country is somewhat mountainous, covered with sage brush, and will afford good shooting to any members of the party who wish to stay until October. Although answers to the petition for electric lights have been received steadily during the past week, there is still a large number from whom nothing has been heard. Out of twelve hundred and fifty postal cards sent out with the petition, about one hundred remain unanswered.
