Ogden Mills Reid, 64, editor-publisher of the Republican New York Herald Tribune, son of Tribune editor Whitelaw Reid, onetime U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James's; of pneumonia; in Manhattan. A year after his father's death in 1912, he became editor of the Tribune, eleven years later purchased the New York Herald (founded 1835) and its Paris edition. With his wife as partner, he directed a paper that gave Manhattan its best local news, that offered foreign coverage surpassed only by the rival New York Times...
