...hockey team defeated 1903 yesterday afternoon on Spy pond by a score of 4 to 2. This was the first regular game of the season between the two classes and the showing of both teams was exceptionally good. On the whole, the Sophomores showed better team work and handled the puck with more accuracy than the Freshmen. In individual playing, Pruyn for 1902, and Wright and Clarkson for 1903 excelled. This year the new custom was introduced, of arranging for each class a debate with some outside organization, in addition to the regular club debates. During the first week after the mid-years, a meeting will be held at which the Senior and Freshman teams who won the debates last fall will be presented with cups by the University Debating Club. At the same meeting gold medals will also be given to the winners of the recent Princeton debate. ...hockey team defeated the Juniors for a second time, Saturday afternoon, on Spy Pond, by a score of 3 to 1. As in the first game, neither team was ahead at the end of the regular two halves and it was necessary to play a third half. Harvard has fifty five entries in the regular events and six relay teams in the Boston Athletic Association meet on February 3. The runners for the relay teams will be chosen partly on the merits of their work at the Boston College games tonight. There will be a special section reserved for Harvard men.
