Usage:

Harvard has been rowing a series of annual eight-oar shell races with Yale since 1876. The record won is a tie-each college having row six races. Prior to the eight-oar contests the record was 17 to 4 in favor of Harvard. Beginning with the annual series, Yale won in 1876 by eight lengths.
