...leaders, including Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, seem to be willing to send members of Japan's Self-Defense Forces (SDF) to Iraq, disregarding not only Japan's constitution but also questions about the legitimacy of the war. They insist that the reason for deploying the SDF is to help reconstruct the Iraqis' lives and maintain peace.
