...place a punt. It is almost impossible to turn out effective halfbacks in the few weeks devoted to practice in fall. Why not have several men on the field in spring to practice kicking, catching, and throwing? This year the season may be too far advanced; but we would recommend that several of the most promising men for half-backs be furnished with foot balls and requested to devote a few hours a week during September, if not during the entire summer, to kicking and catching. It may not be agreeable to undergo any exertion during the summer months...
