Memorial Hall has been made the victim of several "improvements" during the recess. Part of the woodwork at the west end of the hall has been painted over with a dark red colored pattern which does not seem to be favorably received by the average art critic who boards at the hall. The posts at the east end are now being gilded with an alarming yellow color. The new desks and railing in the auditor's office have been finished.
