Former Attorney General Herbert Parker, senior counsel for the defendants, moved to quash the indictment, contending that its allegations were not sufficient to establish a crime. Judge Raymond overruled Mr. Parker's motion, and after counsel had waived the reading of the indictment, Harris pleaded not guilty.
