...Kaduna, Nigeria I was stunned to see your cover identifying the two freed Italian hostages, Simona Pari and Simona Torretta, as European heroes. In light of some of Torretta's statements after she was released by her Iraqi kidnappers - that "the guerrilla war is justified" and that Italy should pull out its troops - to present them as heroes is an offense to Italy, its values and its roots. It is an unjust tribute that denigrates those aid workers who are truly interested in helping people, apart from any political implications.
