...many respects this handbook is very much like other handbooks, but it has one original feature, - the headings of the chapters. Mr. King conceived the idea of comparing the different classes of public works, institutions, etc., to the different parts of the human body. He starts off swimmingly with the streets, bridges, sewers, and horse-railroads as arteries, goes on with the railroads and shipping as arms, and then has to give it up temporarily when he gets to hotels and restaurants.
