LAST March two letters from an American in China appeared in the Boston Advertiser, advocating the establishment of a teachership of the Chinese language at Harvard. We congratulate the College on the early accomplishment of the plan. LAST June we spoke of the great need of a Professor of Hygiene, at Harvard, and advocated Dr. Sargent, of New York, for the position. We now take great pleasure in announcing the appointment of that gentleman.
