In a democratic process, the people of Serbia voted against the economic failures and corruption of the Milosovic era but voted for a candidate of equal nationalist fervor and hence retained the ideas we all abhor and condemn. The West, which has for so long rejected Milosovic, now has embraced (rather too quickly) both a man who embodies the darker aspects of Serbian ultranationalism and a nation that still believes in it.
