...Maitre de Forges," a comedy in four acts by George Ohnet, was presented last night by players of the Theatre Francais at the Copley Theatre. Of the three plays in their Boston repertory it is perhaps the least interesting, its predecessor "Sapho" being a classic of the theatre, and "La Rafale," which will be seen tomorrow evening, a capital melodrama of the efficient Bernstein type. There is in New York at the present time an after-the-theatre amusement place called the "Coccanut Grove." It is as disgusting and immoral an exhibition as has ever been staged in America. It is, of course, the result of its very much less harmful predecessor, the "Midnight Frolic," as that was the more risque result of its predecessor, "Castles in the Air." ...article containing the most interest from an undergraduate point of view is "Reminiscences of '66," by Mr. George Batchelor '66. It gives an idea of the Harvard which President Eliot found when he came into office. His predecessor is almost unknown, even by name, to the average undergraduate, so that it is a pleasure to read of the days of President Hill. Mr. Batchelor speaks with some familiarity of Longfellow and Lowell, and also manages to give an account of the struggles out of which the present Harvard club system developed...
