...Throughout their testimony, the theme of "Zionism" and "Jewish nationalism" recurred. Two Israeli Jews, Mordecai Oren and Shlomo Orenstein, who had been arrested many months ago while passing through Prague, were brought forth at the trial as witnesses and testified against the "Zionists." Orenstein said he knew of a plot hatched in 1947 by Harry Truman, Dean Acheson and Henry Morgenthau, with David Ben-Gurion and Moshe Sharett of Israel, to plant Israeli spies in the Communist Balkans in return for U.S. favors to Israel...

...bill is somewhat saved by the co-feature, "The Gambler and the Lady," in which Dane Clark turns in a midget Humphrey Bogart performance. A few original twists in the plot and several good character portrayals help lift this picture from the second feature category...

...Count Wolf Von Westorp, both fairly prominent Nazis. These men were the brains of the party, but the popular leader, the man often mistaken for the head of the party, was General Otto-Ernst Remer. Remer's claim to popularity was his part in crushing the July 20th, 1944 plot by high German officers to assassinate Hitler, take over the government, and seek peace. Remer, then in charge of the Berlin SS troops, refused to turn the city over to the plotters, and after speaking over the phone with Hitler, who have him absolute authority to deal with the situation...

...Plot. The story began last spring, when two undergraduates, A. R. ("Tony") Thompson and David R. Jones, decided that Oxford needed a bang-up spoof. It had not really had one since after World War I, when an undergraduate posed as "the eminent Dr. Emil Busch" of Frankfurt and lectured on psychoanalysis. Thompson and Jones started their 1952 campaign by capturing the Heretics Club. They first joined as members, then worked their way up to positions as chairman and organizing secretary. Without telling their 120 fellow Heretics what they were up to, they made up a list of guest speakers...
