Mirobolan, her father, is about to hold a meeting with some physicians of his acquaintance for the purpose of dissecting the corpse of a man who has just been hanged. Crispin, with his letter, is received by Dorine, a maid servant. Shortly after, he is nearly discovered by Mirobolan, who is busily preparing for the dissection.
