According to the literature published by the league, which modestly dscribes itself as "a non-partisan union of farmers and labor organizations and other progressive forces", this "program of economic justice will save the people on the farms, in the factories, mines, offices, trades, and transportation $6,000,000,000 a year." ...Partisan feeling is at present running high, inasmuch as tomorrow is the date set for holding the plebiscite. The people living in Upper Silesia who are permitted to participate in the voting, number about 600,000, of whom 62 percent are Polish. This number would be sufficient to ensure a Polish victory were it not for the provision in the Versailles Treaty, which permits the return of all the native sons to the plebiscite who were born there before the year 1900. ...author of the communication of March 6 has assumed that the "youth from the middle-west", who wrote the early communication, did so with the idea of criticizing the existing social order. Our non-partisan communicator thereby made the double error of jumping to hasty conclusions, and of reading into the first communication something which was not written. Having based his entire article upon a false assumption, I fail to see in it any but that questionable value of personal attack. The criticism was intended to be constructive, not destructive...
