Whereas it has seemed good to Almighty God, in his infinite wisdom, to take from us our beloved friend and classmate, Nicholas Reed, -
Resolved, That in the death of our classmate we mourn the loss of a faithful friend and a true Christian, who, by a life short but faithful in good works, has made his memory dear to the many, in administering to whose needs that life was spent.
Resolved, That we would hereby offer his family and his friends our consolation and sympathy in this their great affliction.
Resolved, That while as yet we can hardly realize this so great misfortune, - the first that has befallen our class, - we tender our heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family.
Resolved, That, as a mark of the esteem in which our classmate was held, we wear the customary badge of mourning for the usual time.
