Class races in eight-oared boats have been rowed since the spring of 1879. Previous to this the only races besides those of the University Crew had been those of the various clubs. It has been proposed that it would be a good plan to organize a college club, with quarters in the old law hall, where the leading periodicals would be kept. A billiard hall could be opened, and coffee rooms would furnish pleasant places of commerce for the fellows. The plan seems rather impracticable to us, but it certainly would be a very delightful institution if it could possibly be successfully established...
