...backs, Catholic University has since been beaten by nines inferior to the Crimson, Brown merely broke even, and Boston College has been shown in a second game not to be of the calibre to be rated above Harvard; while Virginia's tie was later in the season more than offset in a shut-out defeat at the hands of Whitney. ...that it is unnecessary to go into details at present. The fact remains that a large number of men have totally failed to bear their share of the University's athletic responsibility, and as a result, the excellent work of our sprinters and long-distance men has often been offset by the shortage of entries in the field events. And to make the situation even worse, the only reason that can be assigned to this lack of material is laziness or indifference...

The play in this session was more even, for Rollins' spectacular end-run of 45 yards for a touchdown was offset by Murray's pretty dropkick from the 30-yard line. Aside from the score, the margin of superiority was small, for the seconds, their line-up constantly freshened by substitutions, put up a strong game. They should give a good account of themselves in their contest with the Brown scrubs tomorrow...
