Ferguson struggled yesterday in the championship game, when Brown scored on six of its 25 shots. On Saturday, however, she simply had Harvard's number. When sophomore defenseman Angela Ruggiero wound up for an uncontested slapper in the high slot that could have won the game in overtime, the reigning ECAC Goaltender of the Week came out of the splits and swiped the puck out of the air to keep the Big Green alive...

Callers ranged from Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, who refrained (for the moment) from begging McCain to launch an independent bid, to George W. Bush, who awkwardly thanked McCain for his gracious exit without daring to ask for the endorsement the Senator had so pointedly withheld. ...growing number of companies are prepared to face that challenge. In Philadelphia, Nobel Learning Communities, which runs 145 private preschools and elementary schools in 13 states, launched its first public school, the Philadelphia Academy Charter School, in a former airplane-parts plant last fall. Nobel plans to open at least five more charter schools by the end of the year. "There is absolutely no way you'll make a profit unless you have a quality program," says A.J. Clegg, CEO of Nobel, which earned $1.6 million on revenues of $110 million last year. New wrinkles at Nobel's Philadelphia school...
