Recognizing the theoretical fact that the absence of a large number of students is a serious interruption to teaching and that their unauthorized absence is a serious obstacle to discipline, the Harvard Faculty has sent a circular note to the parents of a large number of men who were influenced by the pardonable desire to lengthen their Christmas vacation by an earlier exodus from Cambridge than was consistent with the regulations of the college.
