Bates then ran up Horween's kick-off from its 10 yard to its 23 yard line. A rush and pass failed and the Maine kicker, Molten, punted out of danger to the Harvard 40 yard mark. Murray tore ahead 15 yards for first down. On the next play Casey sprinted around left end and broke through the field for a touchdown. The goal was kicked by Horween. The first quarter ended after a series of fumbles and incompleted forward passes by both sides, leaving the ball in the opponent's possession on the University's 30 yard mark...
