...Stewart is a master of tawdry sincerity - he's rock's best B singer - and hearing him cover A material would make for a tacky thrill if he weren't so dreadfully serious in his approach. Instead of turning in a winking version of I'm in the Mood for Love or Don't Get Around Much Anymore, Stewart rearranges his phrasing to fit the classic material; neither benefits, and the result is an album that feels as if it has been untethered from a cheesy romantic comedy. RENEE ZELLWEGER plays a hardscrabble country woman in the upcoming Civil War epic Cold Mountain. To fix the mood on set, director Anthony Minghella displayed tintype photos of cast members, including Jude Law and Nicole Kidman. Twelve students were admitted to University Health Services (UHS) for alcohol abuse in two days, making it the busiest weekend so far this year, according to Director of UHS David...

...well the set and lighting design worked together to conjure the play’s exotic world. Papier-mâché palm trees, swaths of pastel gauze drawn up to evoke the island-mountains, and bright lights in pinks and turquoises (shifting whenever there was a change in mood), were just the sort of cotton-candy mood-setters that the production needed. The effect was not particularly subtle, but it was completely satisfying...
