...nothing really happens - nobody is quite satisfied -at the bi-annual shows until Marc Jacobs weighs in on the state of spring 2007 fashion during his traditional Monday night slot. Although his guests (and there seemed to be thousands of them) will undoubtedly complain bitterly about the long wait at Jacobs' show (sometimes up to 90 minutes) they will sit diligently and wait for the designer to tell them in approximately 53 outfits not just what they should wear next spring, but more importantly, how they should feel...

...statement issued Monday, the service's Air Education and Training Command's said it had decided "to salvage the aircraft in place." So this fall, many expect that a small living area where Georg has stayed in the Apostolic Palace will become the papal brother's permanent address. That's one Curia assignment that had only one viable...

...Still, following their talks with Blair, it was announced that Olmert and Abbas were willing to hold direct talks with one another. More significantly, perhaps, on Monday Abbas concluded an agreement with Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas, to form a government of national unity, on a political platform that includes the 2002 Beirut proposal of the Arab League - a document that offers Israel full peace with the Arab world in exchange for a withdrawal to its 1967 borders...
